Motion activated video security surveillance systems are advantageous for preventing crimes or at least having enough advance warning to notify police. When you rely on someone to monitor a computer screen it is very difficult to always have your eyes on every part of the property.

While someone is monitoring one part of the parking lot someone could be breaking into the building from the other side. It’s impossible to keep focused on all angles of a building and the surrounding areas unless you have several people monitoring different areas.

On the other hand motion activated video security surveillance systems will detect movement on the premises. If you have motion lights this will alert the intruder that he or she is being watched since the motion lights will illuminate the entire area thus making it easier for those monitoring the computer screen to identify the potential criminal.

When criminals know you can capture their movements with a video surveillance system, they are less likely to make your property a potential target for criminal acts. The truth is criminals are quite lazy in most cases. Traditionally they are looking for their easiest target.

An easy target would include a location without surveillance equipment or security systems in plain view. While some businesses and homes choose to hide their video security surveillance systems, it’s often a good idea to allow them to be seen by potential criminals so they’ll be less likely to intrude.

Overall, motion activated video security surveillance systems are great for businesses and for homeowners who need extra protection. They can give the security you desire and help deter crimes from occurring in your life.

If you’d like to add a home security system to your residence, but would prefer not to damage your home’s style and design a wireless home security system may be your perfect solution. Wireless alarms, wireless cameras and total wireless systems have become very popular. The benefits of wireless security systems are quite abundant, giving homeowners more reasons than not to be secretive with wireless!

The main reason homeowners choose wireless home security systems is because of the lack of unsightly wires. The lack of wires offers ultimate flexibility for the homeowner to place the system’s components anywhere they’d like. They can hide the components with easy and never deal with wires hanging down the wall of their home.

Another reason wireless is a popular option is because they’re easy to install. There are rarely needs for much more than a simple mounting kit (screws and a camera holder) when installing a wireless system. No challenging wires must be run through walls or outdoors. The homeowner can angle the components in any direction they’d like and get the system up and running within minutes. Most often, receivers of wireless units can pick up from 700 feet to 10 miles away, depending on the specific system installed.

Home security specialists state wireless home security system options are best for customers on a budget. Since there is less installation involved, there will be less cost in setting up the system. In addition, wireless units come in a variety of sizes allowing each homeowner to find a system that works with their home and their bank account!

CCTV equipment is a strong deterrent to theft and fraud, but digital recording allows you to document events, and can help provide you with a level of organizational awareness and control that was previously unimaginable.

Crime sometimes decreases in monitored areas, but many criminologists argue that this is because criminals simply move their activities elsewhere. Crime continues to rise not just in a physical sense but also in the world of white-collar business. Security cameras have become a worthy ally to many in the detection and prevention of crime.

You can now manage visual information from virtually any place, anytime. CCTV stands for closed circuit TV, meaning that a set of cameras transmit directly to a set of TV monitors. The advantage of wireless CCTV video security cameras is that the images are not broadcast, and thus the images and the system itself are much more private.

There are many benefits to using a CCTV security system. CCTV security systems can be a single camera and monitor or they can be very elaborate. A more complex system may include hundreds of cameras, digital recorders, and multiple operators. The use of a CCTV security system will increase security in the business itself and also around the premises of the building and any parking lots that are part of the property.

Security surveillance cameras have for a while been a very important side of large corporate and govt security functions. A video surveillance system can be seen in most large public venues also like in airfields or malls. These systems have even become part of the culture and are found in these sorts of places, and some folk even make a game out of making daft faces for these cameras.

Retail establishments, banks and other businesses that deal in readies or pricey items have come to depend on high-end video surveillance systems to deter theft and to also help catch perpetrators. These surveillance systems can easily catch criminals on tape, which gives an amount of protection for the premises.

For a long while, it wasn’t possible for home businesses to use a video surveillance system for their security wishes simply because they were so dear to install and maintain. But , in recent years the expenses have come down significantly thanks to major advancements in technology.

With the drop in pricing of entry-level surveillance systems, many smaller businesses can work this type of security into their budgets. This helps them reduce loss due to outright theft and also due to employee purloining. In some cases, small businesses that were on the threshold of having to shut their doors due to the level of losses have managed to’stop the bleeding’ by installing these hi-tech but reasonable systems.

This in turn has helped to save many jobs and also to keep the smaller, neighborhood stores open and serving their communities. When this happens, a video and audio surveillance system can even be thought of as an’unsung hero’ playing a background role of providing protection and security so that the daily activities and flow of the business and community can go on with small interruption.

Another advantage of a low cost surveillance system is the assurance that folks enjoy realizing that their premises have a diligent pair of’eyes’ watching the premises 24 hours a day. In communities where there’s skyrocketing crime, security surveillance systems installed in some businesses in a neighborhood can really cause a ripple effect of reduced crime across the area. While misguided teens previously could have felt they had the freedom to act out, perhaps to the point of causing damage or theft, they now know that their actions will be caught on video and this serves to make them think twice.

In scenarios like this, security professionals suggest that the video surveillance system be installed in such a fashion as to make it much visible and’in your face.’ underwear firms can even integrate a dummy camera or two into their surveillance system, that may give the impression of a more in depth security network.

Whether you own a business or just want to feel more secure in your home, a wireless security camera system can be a good investment. Not only does the simple fact of having a wireless security camera make you feel more protected, studies show when residents use wireless security camera systems they are less likely to become victims of a break in or victim of the antics of a prowler.

While there is no guarantee, when people know you can keep tabs on their activities from any place in your home, they are less likely to attempt anything. Even if you are away from your home they do not know how close you are or the range of your wireless security camera. You may be sitting in your car or visiting with the next door neighbor with your wireless camera in your hand.

The truth is prowlers don’t want to be challenged. If they see a camera, they automatically think there is another home without a camera that they could sneak into without as much trouble as you might stir up due to your security system. Most burglars are lazy, picking the easiest targets.

Wireless security camera systems are good investments for women who live alone, for families, or for business owners who want to have a way to look at the outside of the building from all angles. No matter what kind of budget you have there is a wireless security system to accommodate your needs, which is why you should consider your security options sooner than later.

According to the Labor Department, workplace suicides have risen to 251 incidents last year, which is the highest statistics reported since the group started tracking these situations in 1992. While it’s clear these difficult economic times can lead to more suicides for people without well established support groups of family, friends or co-workers there are things companies can do to help protect their employees.

Video security systems can help employers notice many things about their employees. First, they can easily be paired with other security products to ensure employees are unable to bring weapons into the building. While it’s clear suicide can occur without a weapon (overdose or other dangers persist), video security can ensure workplace suicide won’t occur with a gun or other deadly weapon.

Employers might be able to see changes in a behavior pattern of employees with a video security system and be able to intervene before suicide is presented as an option for a depressed employee. Employees who withdraw, verbally attack others or are aggressive and reckless should be monitored very closely.

In addition to assisting with trying to prevent workplace suicide, video security can be an effective way to protect the other employees who work with depressed co-workers. Sometimes before an employee will commit suicide they open fire on their co-workers with their weapon. Thus, video security can help protect the other areas of the building and alarm other workers of any workplace violence occurring in the area so they can get to safety without being harmed by the depressed co-worker.

There is a video surveillance camera available for every need and purpose. Cameras are available which remain almost invisible when in use because they are so small. Another preference are large cameras meant to be noticed. Usually the hardest decision to come to is which video surveillance equipment is best for them.

First of all, you should identify a few basics so that you can narrow down your selection. Are you looking for a wired or wireless video surveillance camera? Decide how many rooms need to be watched through your camera setup. You do not want too many, or too few. Is yur goal to be able to monitor your area in your absence via video surveillance ?

Once the basic decisions are made, next you need to determine the location of the video surveillance cameras. Are the areas to be monitored located indoors or outdoors, or in both places? Is there adequate lighting in the places you want to have under surveillance? Be aware of the environment the camera will be exposed to if it is to be outdoors.

Begin to look at the different kinds of video surveillance camera systems that are available and begin eliminating the ones that won’t work for your needs. There are several major categories of video surveillance equipment available, here is a list of some of them that you will be able to make your choice from.

One use for a video surveillance camera is total protection. the best equipment is repeatedly identified as its design . this equipment is being used in small and large scale projects. You can buy a smaller system that you can install yourself with a kit. Both home and small business environments, these kits can be easily adapted for use.

You can often find these kits at a home improvement store or a buying club warehouse. Almost all of these kits have wireless parts. You won’t have to dig a trench or drill through the wall because there are no wires. Even for someone who is not a skilled handyman a video surveillance camera is not a difficulty project to install.

Hidden video surveillance cameras are very popular now. Most often you will use these indoors or in an outdoor area that is protected. Most of the time you would not realize that it was really a hidden camera. They appear to be everyday objects that are made to blend into the background. Usually, they are only used in one room with the idea of being able to capture suspicious activity there, and they’re wireless.

There have been many advances in technology recently that have resulted in falling prices, making video surveillance cameras and the necessary components needed for a home security surveillance system much more affordable for everyone. Generally, the fact that most of these systems are wireless makes them very simple and easy to install. It is easy for renters to take these when they move because of their portability.

After there has been a great increase in crime, it is much more important now to keep your family and friends safe. With our police departments finding it more and more difficult to control and compact the increasing crime in our nation it is no wonder that Video Surveillance is so popular. Video surveillance in public can help each criminal be more responsible for their own actions. Thus, society will no longer be terrorized by these problematic criminals.

While some people are against businesses and parking lots video taping their actions, these video systems can help keep everyone safe. In addition, you can continue to ensure your family’s safety by following a few simple rules.

Bear in mind that criminals search for easy targets. They intentionally seek out people who are unaware of danger or those who seem the most trusting. Try not to travel alone, especially when it’s dark out. If you have to be by yourself make sure you walk in a lit area. Avoid entering areas where criminals can easily hide or trap you in. If you are approached, remember to scream loudly and be assertive.

Crimes do not always have a physical confrontation. You may not be aware you were a victim of a crime until your wallet is missing, even hours after the invasion occurs. Video surveillance will help to ensure that you are able to get your money back.

Overall, video surveillance in public areas is put in place to protect you. It stops criminal behavior, and it also assist the legal authorities to get solutions if you or somebody else you are aware of is a victim of criminal activity in the monitored location.

With the severe increase in crime, keeping your friends and family safe has become more important than ever before. With our police departments finding it more and more difficult to control and compact the increasing crime in our nation it is no wonder that Video Surveillance is so popular. Video surveillance in public can help each criminal be more responsible for their own actions. Therefore, society will not be threatened by criminals any longer.

While some people are against businesses and parking lots video taping their actions, these video systems can help keep everyone safe. By doing this, you can be certain that your family is safe, if you also follow these rules.

Bear in mind that criminals search for easy targets. They intentionally seek out people who are unaware of danger or those who seem the most trusting. Avoid traveling alone, especially at night. If you must remain alone, always walk where it is well lit. Avoid entering areas where criminals can easily hide or trap you in. If you are approached, remember to scream loudly and be assertive.

Crimes don’t always involve physical altercations. You may not be aware you were a victim of a crime until your wallet is missing, even hours after the invasion occurs. Video surveillance will help to ensure that you are able to get your money back.

Generally, video surveillance in public is there to protect everyone. Not only does it often deter criminal behavior, but it can also help authorities get answers if you or someone you know is a victim of a crime in the monitored area.

Today, you can find video surveillance cameras in all kinds of sizes and shapes that will accommodate pretty much any application imaginable. There are minuscule cameras that are almost impossible to detect, up to large cameras meant to be a deterrent simply by their presence. With all these choices, sometimes the most difficult part of investing in security surveillance equipment is making a decision.

First of all, you should identify a few basics so that you can narrow down your selection. Do you want wireless surveillance cameras or the wired variety? How many areas do you want to monitor with your network of cameras? Using too many can be overkill, but too few may not get the job done. Do you want remote video surveillance so you can see what’s going on through a secure internet connection while you are away?

After you have clarified those basic issues, then you will need to think about the kind of environment where the video surveillance cameras will be operating. Are you going to be monitoring areas outside or inside or both? What kind of lighting do the areas you wish to monitored have? If you want to watch outdoor areas, then will the cameras be exposed to rain or to direct sunlight at some point during the day?

With those questions answered in your mind, or on paper, you can then begin to look at the different kinds of video surveillance camera systems that are available and begin eliminating the ones that won’t work for your needs. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the major categories of video surveillance equipment from which you will be able to choose.

Complete surveillance systems are one of the most common uses of a video surveillance camera. Often these are large networks of surveillance equipment that are really designed for medium to large business setting. However, recently, smaller systems are available as self-installation kits. These kits can be easily adapted for use in both home and small business environments.

These kits that include a set of video cameras are often found in home improvement stores and even some of the big warehouse clubs. Most all of these kits feature wireless components. Because of the lack of wires, they are extremely easy to install, as there is no drilling through walls or digging trenches in the yard to run the wires. Often a homeowner can have a wireless security surveillance system installed in a couple hours, even if he doesn’t consider himself a handyman.

Another popular choice in a video surveillance camera these days are the hidden types. These are generally only designed to be used indoors or in protected areas outside. In most cases you would not know that the object you are looking at is actually a hidden camera. They are disguised as common everyday objects designed to blend into the surroundings. Most frequently, they are installed in just one room with the intent of capturing suspicious activities and they are wireless.

As technology has advanced, the systems that use video surveillance cameras have become less expensive and therefore more affordable for a wider range of people. This has made home security surveillance a possibility for many more households. In addition, most of these newer systems are wireless, making them easy to install and portable so that renters can also enjoy the advantages of having video surveillance security for their premises.

With the severe increase in crime, keeping your friends and family safe has become more important than ever before. Even the police are finding it harder to control the crime waves now facing our nation.

Remember, criminals look for easy targets. They purposely look for people who are unaware of impending danger or those who seem the most naive.

If you were in an area being monitored by video surveillance, you’ll have better chances for getting your money back.

Overall, video surveillance in public areas is put in place to protect you. Not only does it often deter criminal behavior, but it can also help authorities get answers if you or someone you know is a victim of a crime in the monitored area.

Since business owners cannot possibly monitor all workplace activity, at all times, many are turning to video surveillance in the workplace. Video surveillance at the workplace can help bosses know everything is running smoothly. In addition, if there is an accident or other situation involving company liability, videos can be quite helpful.

Benefits of installing a video surveillance system in the workplace include:

1. Employee Monitoring: Having a video surveillance system in the workplace can help bosses monitor the work habits and behavior of their employees. They can be sure all workers are on task and following company rules. Bosses can keep an eye on non-smoking areas and be sure no fraternization is occurring on site.

2. Insurance Benefits: Many insurance companies will give discounts to properties with on-site video surveillance systems. This is because a video surveillance system keeps your business and building more secure. In addition, it may deter criminal activity. Thus, you can save money and stay safer!

3. Protecting Investments: Choosing to install video surveillance equipment in your buildings will allow you the opportunity to know more about what’s going on. You can be sure your property and stock are protected. If anything turns up missing, you’ll have a greater chance of getting to the bottom of the crime.

All in all, installing video surveillance systems in the workplace is a great idea. It will keep the business area protected and help ensure all is well throughout the company.

It’s not news video surveillance is used widely around the world. While it was once only used in homes of paranoid citizens, it is now used in millions of residences, businesses, airports, schools and government buildings. Video surveillance is ideal for catching criminal acts and terrorists, before and after crime occurs.

Here are some examples of how video surveillance catches criminals and terrorists:

1. Many businesses are able to have monitored video surveillance systems which are viewed continuously by in-store security teams. This allows them to immediately see criminal activity, as it’s occurring. When activity is suspected, the security team can often catch the criminal before they leave the store or in the parking lot.

2. Many government buildings and airports use video (much more frequently after September 11 attacks in New York City). They often use them to target those who look like suspected terrorists. While some feel this is a violation of rights, others understand the importance and have seen this deter terrorist activity.

3. If a homeowner tapes someone breaking into their home, the footage can often be used by police as evidence against the criminal. Thus, they may be able to catch the thief more quickly. In addition, the homeowner’s insurance company will be able to see the home was indeed damaged.

4. Schools are using video surveillance to monitor student activity. They are watching for mischief (smoking, skipping school, fighting) most often. They can also use footage to monitor everyone visiting the building, which can help them keep campuses safe.

Crime was not really an issue for many when they were kids. Parents would allow you to stay outside past when it became dark. You could travel safely to visit friends down the street and there were no internet stalkers to worry about.

You could play freely and your parents didn’t feel the need to worry about everything you did or everywhere you went. You trusted your parents to be able to keep you safe and you were not concerned with being hurt or made into a victim. You didn’t even worry when you talked to strangers, or if you went door to door to sell candy bars for a fund raiser at school.

Unfortunately, things are no longer like they used to be. You have to watch your kids constantly, from fear of being hurt or someone taking advantage of them. Bullies have gone a step further than just verbal abuse. They now attack and try to physically hurt people.

As a parent, it seems much harder to protect your child than it appeared to be 20 years ago. Thus, video security is becoming a larger and larger part of our lives for the safety of our children.

Even schools are using video surveillance systems and are taking responsibility. They are monitoring student action for liability purposes as well for safety reasons. Day cares are utilizing video systems to ensure abuse does not occur and senior homes are often monitored as well. All in all, video security and liability is something which won’t likely go away anytime soon.

With most of the corporate world going with IP video surveillance systems, some people wonder if their CCTV video security surveillance equipment is obsolete. While most IP systems can be integrated easily with CCTV cameras, the entire thought of IP based systems is becoming the newest technology in security. The problem is CCTV systems come with many limitations.

First, CCTV (closed circuit TV) is quite expensive and disruptive when installed. Once it is installed, it offers limited monitoring services and functions compared to IP video security systems. Because the CCTV systems record onto videocassettes, the event can’t be viewed live.

This limits the use in emergency personnel and police cases where live feed is vital and essential. Thus, many crimes can be committed and be over before anyone can actually see what’s going on via the CCTV videos. Of course, if the criminals take the tapes with them, there is often no chance for the event to be viewed.

Because of the limitations associated with CCTV video security surveillance systems, more corporations and emergency departments are choosing to go with IP video surveillance systems. They are much more superior to CCTV and offer live feed of events.

Those who already have CCTV systems in place are often excited to learn their cameras can easily be integrated into a new IP system. Thus, there is no money being wasted. Instead, the security system is just updated and begins to offer more functions. Overall, while CCTV is useful in security, IP video systems are the new wave of the future.

If you’re in the market for a video surveillance system, you’ll likely feel overwhelmed by the choices you have before purchasing. After all, there are a wide variety of different security systems available to homeowners and business owners.

Experts claim the best option for those in need of private security, loss prevention, emergency management or business security is digital video surveillance systems.

Most of the best digital video surveillance systems offer the following:

Better communication and collaboration

Ability to be proactive with threat detection

A durable system that will last for years and not easily become obsolete

A network security monitoring system that offers security

Overall reduction in false alarms

Reduction in human error often associated with older systems

Larger surveillance monitoring areas

Digital camera support from the manufacturer or the installers

The ability to utilize less people to operate the system

An easy-to-use monitoring system

A reduction in costs (less security personnel needed, upgraded longevity of equipment)

Easy to use interface, making it easy for all team members to learn the new system

Overall, if you’re planning to get a new security system anytime in the next few years, it’s best to go with a digital video surveillance system. Otherwise you’ll be paying money for a system that may be obsolete by the time you finish having it installed.

A digital video surveillance system can allow business owners to know exactly what is going on in their place of business, at all times.

When you’re a business owner, there are a few things you learn quickly. One of the lessons most bosses learn is they can’t monitor all business activity at all times. Being human, it’s just not possible to watch over every aspect of your business.

However, with video surveillance equipment at your business site or within your company building, you can feel more secure knowing you have the ability to see everything going on whenever you’d like.

Benefits of installing a video surveillance system in your building include:

1. Protecting Your Property: When company owners install video surveillance equipment in their buildings they are not only setting themselves up for the opportunity to know more about what’s going on within their business. They are also providing protection for their property. If the building is broken into or things are missing, a video security system can often help catch the criminal in action.

2. Knowing What Employees Are Doing: Many business owners like having a video system in-house to ensure their employees are staying on task. While it’s illegal to film employees without their knowledge and in specific areas, it is perfectly fine to have video surveillance in many areas. Some bosses especially love the fact they can monitor areas where employees may sneak out to smoke cigarettes, if smoking is prohibited.

3. Insurance Benefits: Because a video surveillance system keeps your business and building more secure and may deter criminal activity, most often your insurance company will give you a discount on your monthly premiums for having a security system.

Adding a home security surveillance system to your home can be a great way to add a sense of safety to your residence. However, there are a few things to remember upon installing a home security system. While it’s perfectly legal to utilize a home video surveillance system, homeowners must abide by specific rules on installation and positioning of equipment.

In almost all states, installing a home security camera inside your home is perfectly fine. However, today’s homeowners also want to view the areas outside their home. This area of the law gets a bit tricky because there are some places where it’s illegal to videotape or listen to any event or conversation.

The states of Utah, South Dakota, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine, Kansas, Hawaii, Georgia, Delaware, California, Arkansas and Alabama are very strict on this area of the law and homeowners there should be extra careful when installing outdoor video security systems.

Another thing to remember when installing a video home security surveillance system is respecting privacy of your family members and all guests. For example, it would not be appropriate to install a home camera in a changing room or bathroom of your home. In fact, it could be considered illegal. When video cameras are deemed to invade the privacy of someone else, they are usually unethical.

Responsible homeowners can effectively use and enjoy home security surveillance equipment systems without any problems. Professional home security installers are well informed of state laws and regulations and can help you with ensuring you are within your legal limits.

However, those homeowners who choose to self install their systems should be careful to follow all regulations of their state.

If you watch the news each evening, you know home invasions are on the rise. In fact, statistics say over 5 million homes are broken into each year! Thus, having a wireless home security system is something you don’t need to live without.

Wireless home security systems can not only deter criminals from breaking into your residence, but they can also protect you if a criminal chooses to go through with an invasion. Wireless systems come in many sizes and varieties. Some include only an audio alarm upon intrusion. Others are much more detailed and offer more features for those seeking even more protection.

Some wireless home security systems include video components which allow you the opportunity to visually see everything around your home or inside your home. These can be quite helpful if you travel a lot or if you’d like to know your home is safe while you are away at work. Most systems can be accessed anywhere you can use a computer and Web connection.

Other video wireless systems allow homeowners to sit inside their home and view the surroundings outside of their home. For example, if you are in bed and hear a loud rumble outside your front door you could quickly tune your television to a channel set up to allow you to see what’s going on in that outside area.

Whether you choose to hire a security expert or are brave enough to install your own wireless home security system, choosing to secure your residence is a great idea. You can sleep sound knowing you and your family are safe and even save money on homeowner insurance along the way!

Have you even gone on vacation only to return home to a burglarized home? Unfortunately, over 5 million homes are broken into each year. If you don’t know if your home is secure and safe, it’s probably not.

You may wonder what’s going on around your house while you’re out of town. You may even wonder if someone is lurking inside your home when you come home late from work. If you are insecure about your home’s security, you may want to look into purchasing home security cameras to help you gain the peace of mind you long for.

The main benefit of home security cameras is to deter burglars. Thus, when searching for a great home security camera you may want to find something that is not invisible. Sure, most homeowners don’t want something bulky added to their home’s appearance. However, if a camera is visible (or a sign is posted) a criminal will be less likely to strike your residence. The very presence of a camera can often be enough to keep intruders away.

Another thing to think about when choosing home security cameras is the availability to access the camera feed. Many systems will allow homeowners to access the feed from anywhere, with a computer and Internet connection. Think about where you’d most likely be accessing your home camera feed and be sure to choose a camera that is aligned with your needs.

Home security cameras come in an abundance of styles and with various features. Therefore, a homeowner can choose cameras that fit their exact needs. Home security offers stability and the peace of mind many people covet. Thus, it’s always a great idea to add a home security camera to your residence.

As home invasions are on the rise, considering a home security system is a smart decision. Having a home security system can deter criminals from invading your home. Most of these security systems work to keep intruders out with the sounding of an alarm or siren.

When you leave for work in the morning, do you really feel like your home is safe? When you come home in the evening, do you ever worry there is someone lurking inside your house waiting for you?

If you’re like most homeowners, home safety is a real concern. After all, your home is a place you should feel safe and secure! Home security cameras can help homeowners gain that safe and secure feeling they deserve to have.

One benefit to having home security cameras is to deter burglars. The simple presence of a camera will usually be enough to keep intruders away. However, if they do manage to get in the house all actions they take can be captured if you have home security cameras.

Parents often like having security cameras in their home to monitor their children. While this may seem a bit extreme, some parents like being able to log into their security account while at work to ensure their children got home from school safely. Parents of teens also like knowing who their child brings home with them.

With an abundance of wireless home security camera options, homeowners have more flexibility than ever before with the installation of home security systems. Home security offers stability, peace of mind, security and may even lower your home owner’s insurance. Thus, adding home security cameras to your residence is not only a safe idea but also a financially sound idea.

Most people know there are video surveillance equipment use laws and limits when taping areas and people. The act of video taping is legal however one must follow certain rules to stay within the boundaries of their rights.

Private Place Video Use

While installing a home security camera is legal, there are some places where it’s illegal to videotape or listen to any event or conversation. Utah, South Dakota, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine, Kansas, Hawaii, Georgia, Delaware, California, Arkansas and Alabama are all strict on these laws.

These most often pertain to someone who is entering (trespassing) to record people doing something. If you do take an unauthorized recording you could be charged with a felony, spend up to two years in prison and be fined as much as $2,000.

Nudity Is Off Limits

It’s common sense to know video surveillance equipment cannot be hidden in a restroom or locker room. However, it’s important to state again that it’s illegal to video tape in any area where nudity is the purpose of the recording.

Respecting Privacy

As long as you’re not invading someone’s privacy, you can video tape in many locations. For example, you could not video tape in bedrooms, dressing rooms, locker rooms or other private areas. However, you could video tape in a home, at a park, at a party or during a school event.

While video surveillance equipment is most often used for home security purposes, it’s important to remember these laws. Landlords who are interested in installing security systems on their multi-unit properties should be especially aware of these limitations.

When safety and security are your main priority, you may be considering adding security video cameras to your home or business. Upon searching you may find security video cameras are often called CCTV Systems, Video Surveillance Systems or Security Camera Systems. However, they all do basically the same things.

They are used for viewing and recording events around your home or business location. Today they are used for much more, however. Medical imagery, traffic control, marketing, production line monitoring and more are viewed with these systems.

There are several types of security camera systems. The analog systems use analog VHS recorders and digital security cameras to allow users to view and record all activity. While analog systems were the first to emerge, they are quickly becoming inadequate for today’s needs.

Digital video systems are much more popular today and use DVRs and digital cameras to record to hard drives. They are able to be remotely viewed, which makes them appealing to many people.

Network security systems of IP video based security systems are the newest technologies in security video cameras. They are very versatile in design and use IP cameras or network security cameras.

To find the best system for your home or business, you need to consider a few things. First, think about what you want your security system to be able to do. Then, think about how much you’re willing to spend on a security system. By looking at price and capabilities you can easily find a security video camera system that will work for your home or business.

The first thing most homeowners do upon deciding to purchase a home security system is call a professional installation company. While a professional can certainly assist you in finding the most appropriate home security products, there are a few things you can decide yourself, before making any calls.

The first thing you need to do is figure out what areas of your property you want to keep secure. For example, if you only want to monitor the outside of your home then home security products made for indoor use only would not be appropriate choices. Thus, knowing what areas you’d like to monitor is important before purchasing a security system.

Home security products and plans can be customized to fit the exact need of the family. Perhaps you’d like to be able to video monitor your residence while you’re away on business trips. If this is the case, you would need to inquire about video home security products with PC monitoring capabilities. However, other families may not need such elaborate monitoring options and may be fine with a few simple window and door security connections.

Most homeowners feel best when they know their home and family are safely protected. When choosing home security products, you should consider the level of security you need, the locations you want to maintain security within, your budget and the way in which you’d like to access your security viewing options.

If you’re interested in adding more value to your home you may want to consider adding a home security system with PC based video security equipment. Homeowners often choose security systems to ensure their own personal and family safety. Common reasons for adding security systems include the desire to protect valuables or simply sleep easy at night knowing their residence is secure. While a PC based video security system can help you stay safe, it can also add value to your home’s value.

Homes with PC based security systems sell faster and for higher prices than homes without systems. For each dollar a homeowner spends on a video security system, realtors say they can expect to see double in return upon selling. Home security systems can benefit homeowners while they own their home and when they choose to sell their home.

PC based security systems are best for homeowners who want to be able to control their security systems while they are at another location. For instance, a homeowner who wants the option of viewing their residence while they are out of town on business could easily log into a PC based security system to watch video footage of their home.

In addition to offering security, adding a PC based video security equipment system to your home can also lower your home owner’s insurance. Most insurance companies will give homeowners a break when they can prove their home is well secured with a professional system.

Protecting your property and your family is necessary but paying someone else to install home security products is not. You can install several home security devices that will increase your homes protection against criminals.

By searching DIY home security products online you will find and abundance of options. There are complete home security kits that include alarms, motion detectors and magnetic transmitters. More simple options can include the safety focus of a specific home area such as a door or window.

There are numerous choices for front door locks including keypad entry systems and finger print door lock systems. There are locking mechanisms that are fitted to the bottom of your door that can prevent an invader from being able to open the door. For those with sliding glass patio doors there are various styles of security bars all of which you install on your own. If your windows are a concern than wireless magnetic transmitters can be fitted to warn those in your home when a window is opened, by sounding a loud siren.

A glass break alarm will deter criminals if they should shatter a window in your home. Rather you are looking to secure your home like Fort Knox or to simply add to your comfort level when you are home alone, the options are available to you. When you leave for vacation and the house sitter is left alone you can have the peace of mind that your home is safe for you when you return.

When parents of teens choose to install a home security system they often wonder how to include their children in the use of the system. With most teens getting home from school before their parents arrive home from work, it’s almost impossible not to let them in on the functions of the systems. In fact, some parents feel more comfortable knowing their teen is coming home to a safe house after school when a security alarm is set.

However, parents should know there are a few risks to letting a teen know how to operate a security system. If a teen isn’t responsible enough to be informed of important security information, you should not allow them the ability to operate the home security system.

One thing to remind your teen is they should never allow friends to see or access your home’s security system codes. Remind them to keep all information secret from even their best friend, girl friend or boy friend. Otherwise your security system could be seriously compromised.

Another thing to remind your teen is they cannot disable the alarm system at night, after it’s been set. This is a good house rule to hold, under specific curfew times (alarm-setting times). Many parents find their teen tries to sneak out of the house, disabling the alarm before going. This can be dangerous not only to the escaping teen but by disabling the alarm the entire household is at risk for being unsecure.

All in all, a parent should use their own judgment on whether a teen is responsible enough to be able to use the house alarm. Some parents give their teens limited use and even choose to change their alarm codes frequently in case their teen does slip and let the codes out in public. However, with proper supervision a teen can successfully use a home alarm.

When a homeowner or business owner decides they need a security system, they often call a professional. Finding the right home security products without professional help can be a challenge. Thus, most professionals have a consulting method they use with each customer to ensure the correct system is chosen.

One of the first steps taken is an assessment of the property. The access and control points are identified, all family members are identified and key issues are identified.

Secondly, an interview is conducted with all family members to gather information on needs of security. Next, the family will be asked about their current security procedures, if they have any in place. A list of goals will be created for the family, based on the interview and all other gathered information.

With the information gathered, the professional company can create home security products and plans that will fit the exact need of the family. The design and plan of this type of customized security system is one of a kind. After the home security products and system is chosen and designed, it will be installed into the residence. The family will be trained to properly utilize the system and the process will be complete.

Most families feel best knowing they have a professional on their side when choosing and installing a home security system. When it comes to family security, no corners should be cut. Thus, a security specialist can tell a family exactly what they need to fit their individual lifestyle and security goals.

Video surveillance is an area of business security that has become quite popular over the past few years. Businesses are choosing to install expensive security systems to insure they are not victims of criminal activity. Not only do some businesses utilize video surveillance to protect their products, but many also use video surveillance to reduce liability.

Various businesses have different concerns when it comes to liability, depending on the industry. One of the most popular industries engaging in video surveillance is the retail business. While some would think retail stores only use security cameras for theft purposes, the opposite is true. Retail stores are beginning to use security cameras to ensure they’re not being wrongfully accused or even sued. In today’s “world of lawsuits” many retail stores are undeserving victims.

For example, a con artist may claim to slip and fall on a retail store’s floor due to a spill. Without proper proof, the con artist customer may take out a lawsuit against the store for a large sum of money. However, with video surveillance in place the store may be able to prove they weren’t at fault. Perhaps the con artist poured water on the floor himself before throwing himself to the ground, in hopes of obtaining money in a criminal manner.

Another business using video surveillance to reduce liability is the day care industry. Many parents are often quite nervous leaving their children at a day care and sometimes rightfully so. However, to ensure they know what’s going on in each classroom (at all times) daycares are beginning to use ongoing video streams. Parents feel more comfortable and day cares can avoid unreasonable abuse claims.

Millions of CEOs around the world are using video surveillance systems for business use. While each company has their own reasons for doing do, there are a collection of benefits for doing so. Take a look at these benefits for using video surveillance systems for business use and decide if your business should consider a new security system.

Protection Of Your Products

The number one reason businesses use video surveillance system is to protect their products or their building. No CEO wants to hear their store or business building has been robbed. Thus, video surveillance systems work well to not only deter thieves but also to catch them in the act. Police claim video cameras can catch criminals faster than any other means of security system.

Employee Behavior

Another reason companies choose to use video surveillance systems is to monitor employee behavior. Perhaps they want to ensure employees are on task, not fraternizing or maybe not smoking in unauthorized areas. Video surveillance is a great way for management to understand what their employees do during the day, without them having to physically look over their shoulders.

Parking Procedures

A great deal of theft occurs in parking lots. Thus, many businesses are choosing to install video surveillance systems in parking lots. These systems are often used to make sure only employees are parking in specific lots, as well. Often they are used to catch thieves breaking into cars during the day or at night. Overall, they are a great way to ensure parking lots or structures are safe.

Millions of home owners sleep tight at night knowing their home burglar alarm is in place and working properly. However, many people have no idea what they’d do if it actually went off. In fact, some don’t even test their alarm regularly to be sure it’s working and effective.

To thwart these security issues, thousands of people are choosing to participate in 24/7 home burglar alarm monitoring programs. These programs allow for constant monitoring, no matter if the homeowner is at home or not. There are many companies on the market offering these services. Thus, homeowners must be wary of which company they choose to trust.

An alarm monitoring system works by sending a signal to the monitoring center if the home burglar alarms are activated at any time. Often companies have specific procedures, such as calling the house to ensure the alarm wasn’t accidentally set off.

If there is no response, emergency authorities are contacted immediately. In addition to monitoring home burglar alarms, many monitoring systems can be upgraded to include smoke detection systems, medical emergency detection or panic alarm systems.

One benefit to having your home burglar alarms monitored is the peace of mind someone is always looking out for you. For example, there’s no need to worry while you’re on vacation or even about the possibility of not hearing a smoke alarm and being injured by smoke inhalation during your sleep.

Most insurance companies also will offer discounts for those who have traditional home burglar alarms or monitored home burglar alarms. Thus, the decision to get one is often a sound financial choice.

Some homeowners consider adding an integrated security video system package to their home to ensure their own personal and family safety. They may want to protect valuables or simply sleep easy at night knowing their residence is secure. However, adding an integrated video security systems package to your home can do much more than keep you safe. In fact, it can add thousands to the value of your home!

Not only do homes with security systems in place sell faster than unsecure homes, but they also sell for higher prices. A security system (especially a nice video system package) can literally add thousands to your home’s value.

Realtors say for every dollar spent on a premium integrated security video system, the homeowner could expect to see a double in return upon selling. Thus, not only does a security system benefit a homeowner while their living in the home (through safety and security) but also when they choose to sell their home.

Another way placing a security system in your home can save you money is by reducing your homeowner’s insurance premiums. Most insurance companies are happy to give discounts to homeowners who have integrated security systems within their residence. This can save you hundreds of dollars each year and help reaffirm why a security system is right for your home.

Trying to figure out what type of security system is needed can be complicated. Thus, it’s best to have your home examined by a professional for recommendations on what will best suit you and your individual needs.

Home security is no longer something available only to those who own multi-million dollar mansions built on sprawling estates. Thanks to recent advances in technology, the average homeowner can now fully protect the family with home security systems that incorporate security cameras, fire alarms, burglar alarms and other home security surveillance systems – including medical alert systems.

There are a number of surveillance cameras available for home. Just how much would someone have to pay for a home alarm system monitoring service? As with most services the price can vary based on the company you choose, type of system, and contract type. Even low cost motion detectors can be purchased and added to the alarm security system.

People who have a little extra money to spend might find it useful to sign up for the alarm monitoring service. A good surveillance camera system will allow you to watch and record anything and everything that goes on in your home or outside of it.

Planning your home security system may be as mind boggling as purchasing your system. With cautious planning and careful consideration of your home’s most vulnerable areas, you can easily and inexpensively structure a reliable home security system.

Home security is on everyone’s minds these days, as we Americans are feeling more and more vulnerable in our homes, neighborhoods, cities, and even our country. It’s important to do what you can to secure your own little part of the world by installing and using a home security system.

Home security is crucial to every home, especially higher value homes. You should talk to a number of different experts in home security to be certain you get the right home security products. Home security is usually done so poorly that false alarms are the norm. Some people think that they can install their own home security system.

According to national statistics, employee theft makes up about 45 percent of a company’s losses and external theft about another 32 percent. Video surveillance equipment can help the bottom line on two fronts, first as a deterrent to theft and as a powerful witness to the crime in a court of law. In a majority of cases, when confronted with video evidence, a suspect will admit to their wrongdoing.

Employee theft and customer accidents are two of the largest contributors to a business’s bottom line that can be controlled through the use of video surveillance equipment. Being able to dispute an accident claim with video evidence that the alleged accident did not occur in the way in which it is claimed, can save you money as well as your company’s reputation.

Video surveillance equipment has also been successfully used to counter claims of employee accidents to save money on insurance costs and to counter accusations. Signs advertising this security will increase its effectiveness, protecting the value of the secured vehicle or area itself.

Cameras act as an excellent deterrent and are extremely useful in the prosecution of criminals. Home security cameras catch them in the act. Cameras recording who comes to your front door and who is round the side or back of your home can be really off-putting for a burglar. Like alarms, systems vary greatly in cost and quality.

Home security is becoming increasingly important to homeowners. Installing a good home security system and plan will keep you and your family safe from harm. Home security is a serious consideration and should be undertaken with knowledge and care.

Knowing there are cameras present when shopping at the mall or in downtown area can give one much needed peace of mind. In addition, home video security systmes can often catch things going on around the home in the neighborhood or community one lives in.

Home security is among today’s top concerns for homeowners and business owners. Having the best security equals having a peace of mind. Home security is an issue to which we all need to give considerable thought. The combined amount of money lost in the 2.1 million burglaries in 2003 was 3.5 billion dollars.

Home security is important even if you have outstanding public safety agencies (police, fire, highway patrol, etc. Did you know that enhancing your home security is something you should look into right from the time you set out to buy a home or apartment.

Home security is becoming increasingly important to homeowners. The most common ways to protect your family and home are by installing a burglar alarm or security systems, security bars, surveillance cameras, driveway gates, security storm shutters, security safes, and fire protection devices.

Home security is something that can be put on the back burner right behind excitement, decorating, and house warming parties. Home security is an investment in everything you have ever done and everything you treasure. What good is saving money by deciding not to purchase a home security system when you cannot enjoy the things you have and your free time because you worry about thieves and intruders?

Home Security is a must especially if you live in easily accessible villages or exclusive but secluded areas. One must understand that security cameras in gates and other home security gadgets are not only for the rich and famous. Home security is the best way to reduce your chances of being burgled. A lot of burglaries are spur of the moment, as a burglar may see an open window or other easy point of entry and take their chance.

Sometimes a sign may warn that digital video surveillance is covering an area, and even if there is no actual visual surveillance then some malicious agents will be deterred by the belief that there may be.

Sometimes a sign may warn that digital video surveillance is covering an area, and even if there is no actual visual surveillance then some malicious agents will be deterred by the belief that there may be. Also, often when there is actual security present in an area, such as video surveillance, an alarm system in a home, or an anti-theft system in a car.

Burglars know that there are many houses with little or no home security measures, which could provide softer targets. By installing a few simple home security measures such as an alarm, window locks and a CCTV system, you can greatly reduce your chances of falling victim to burglary. Burglars like easy opportunities. They don’t like locked windows because breaking glass attracts attention. Burglars use the owner’s absence to their own advantage.

Home security is an issue to which we all need to give a large thought. Home security is a serious business and you are encouraged to speak with a professional security expert for more information. Home security isn’t just about your own home, either. A lot of determining whether or not you’re a significant risk involves taking stock of your neighborhood including public safety facilities like police and fire stations.

Home security is important for everybody. You can maintain home security in numerous ways including installing one or multiple home security cameras in your home. Home Security is more important today than ever before. Not only does a Monitored Alarm System provide you with peace of mind, but it actually significantly decreases your chances of being victimized in your own home or business.

Home security is one of the easiest ways to protect our family members and our possessions. The police and fire departments do excellent jobs but they can’t be every where so it falls to us to help in the protection of our homes. Home security is a responsibility.

Owning a home is a milestone for most people, but when you take on the responsibility of a home, you become liable for all incidences that may occur because of your stance on home security.

Home Security is one of the most important things that anyone can invest in. The fact of the matter is that homes that have some form of home security or another are less likely to have burglaries and break-ins than homes that don’t have some form of home security.

CCTV equipment is a strong deterrent to theft and fraud, but digital recording allows you to document events, and can help provide you with a level of organizational awareness and control that was previously unimaginable.

The use of a CCTV security system will increase security in the business itself and also around the premises of the building and any parking lots that are part of the property.

It wasn’t all that long ago that video surveillance equipment was the stuff of spy novels and movies. Then government and large businesses soon adopted the technology to provide additional levels of security. But these days, security surveillance cameras and the systems they network into are frequently seen in even small businesses and even homes.

If you are looking for a home security surveillance system, then there are a number of things you will want to be aware of as you choose your system. There are a number of different kinds of home security systems options from which to choose. Having a clear understanding of the different kinds of surveillance cameras, and also of how you plan to use them, will help you determine the best choice.

One of the first decisions you will need to make is deciding exactly what the primary use and purpose of your security surveillance cameras will be. Is your plan to use the network of security cameras to scare off potential perpetrators, or would you rather use the surveillance system to catch a criminal in the act? If you primarily want to discourage potential problems, then you should purchase large equipment that will stand out and be noticed easily.

However, if you want to be able to monitor activities without people knowing about it, then you will need to install the small to tiny cameras in a network of hidden security cameras. This would be useful if you need to catch an employee stealing, or knowing if your teenagers are sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night.

Another consideration in choosing the right security system for your situation is the type of lighting conditions available when the system is in operation. Is the space dimly lit, well lit, or changing throughout the day? Are there lights that come on after dark or is the area only lit by the environment? Do you want to be able to monitor the area even without incandescent lighting? All of these factors need to be taken into account when buying home security systems.

In order to effectively monitor an outdoor area or indoor space in darkness, you will need to choose an infrared CCTV security surveillance camera. These special units have small infrared LEDs that are placed all around the lens of the video surveillance camera. It is these LEDs that allow the camera to “see” in the dark even when there is no available light source.

Another option for security cameras for low light situations is the day/night video cameras. These day/night security surveillance cameras utilize a highly sensitive imagining chip that allows them to capture videos in very low light conditions without the need of the infrared lighting.

However, these cameras cannot work in total darkness like the infrared cameras can and there would need to be at least some ambient light from a source, such as the moon or a streetlight, in order to capture any surveillance footage.

If the security surveillance cameras are to be mounted outside where they will be exposed to the elements, then you will need to be sure to select cameras that are built specifically for this purpose. Other types of video surveillance equipment include bullet cameras which can be hidden in very small spaces, and dome cameras which are typically mounted on ceilings or walls.

It is a good idea to consult with a specialist to help you to be sure that the video surveillance equipment you are investing in is right for your needs and circumstances.

If you find yourself on the brink or in the midst of an ugly divorce and are faced with a custody battle over the children, then it might be a wise move to learn all you can about video surveillance systems. While that might not be the first thing that springs to mind when preparing to duke it out in court, an unobtrusive remote video surveillance unit might just turn the tables in your favor.

While no one wants to encourage any kind of underhandedness, it is always prudent to know exactly what you are up against, with as many facts on your side as possible. In this day and age of long, drawn-out and acrimonious custody battles, the evidence gained from video surveillance might be helpful, not only to your case but to assure the best interests of the children.

With that said, it also needs to be cautioned that employing video surveillance systems in some states is considered illegal or the evidence could be excluded from court if all parties were not made aware of the installation of the system. It is a prudent precaution to check this thoroughly with an attorney in your area.

This would also be true in the instance of using a digital video surveillance system in your home in order to catch a babysitter or a nanny who is up to no good. While you could confront them, and probably fire them, based on what was caught on the camera video surveillance system, it might not hold up in a courtroom setting. And, it might not be advisable to boast about taping them on your IP video surveillance or remote video surveillance system, unless you know exactly what the laws are in your state.

The last thing you want to deal with in this situation is having your estranged spouse or your embarrassed nanny (or both in some instances) turn the tables on you and drag you into court for putting them under the scrutiny of a security video surveillance system without their knowledge or consent. Again, in these kinds of situations, it is always best to consult with a professional who can give you solid legal advice so that you don’t end up being the one in hot water.

But, let’s say you get past those nagging legal issues. The next decision is what kind of video surveillance equipment you should consider. There are many choices in video and audio surveillance systems these days and many are very affordable for homeowners.

Even though the newer surveillance systems are becoming very affordable, thanks to the wonderful advances in technology recently, you will still want to design a system that stays in your budget. You will need to decide if you want just one camera to focus on a single location in the home, or if you want several cameras that are networked together. Also, do you want your video surveillance cameras to monitor the exterior areas of the home, and if so, will the equipment be exposed to the elements?

Once you have identified your goals and needs, then it’s time to consult with an expert on video surveillance systems, while keeping your budget in mind. You can, of course, go to the nearest home improvement retailer and grab a kit that you can install yourself, but that might not be the best way to go. A security professional will install the components correctly, guaranteeing a reliable system.

Many more people are installing video surveillance cameras in their homes these days because they tend to be home less often and want to have the added peace of mind that such a security system can offer. In addition, we live in a time when the neighbors are also at home less and less frequently and are generally less aware and watchful of what might be happening in the area.

These situations have combined to make home security surveillance systems more desirable to people, and to cope with rising crime in many areas of the country. People feel less safe even when they are in their homes because of increasing crime trends. This is particularly true when the reported crimes start to encroach into neighborhoods that had once been thought of as very safe.

Another reason for the rise in popularity of security surveillance equipment for the home is that it has become much more affordable because of the great technological advancements that have been made. So, even average homeowners can afford to have a system that also includes such features as remote video security.

In addition, there are even portable surveillance cameras systems that have more recently come on the market for those who rent a home or an apartment, so they too can have a home security system. Most of these portable systems use wireless video surveillance cameras, so they are easy to install and also very easy to remove and reinstall at a new location as needed.

Another advantage of these wireless surveillance camera systems is that the installation costs are much lower than the traditional hard-wired security systems. In fact, many people are able to install these kinds of systems themselves, which once again helps to make them more affordable.

Home security surveillance systems are most often used to monitor the happenings around the exterior of the home. This allows the homeowner to know what is happening on their property, which is especially helpful if there has been evidence of an intrusion of some type. However, simply having an operating network of surveillance cameras can be a huge deterrent to crime in and of itself.

These surveillance camera systems can also be used to keep an eye on things going on inside the home. This can be helpful in a game room type setting where teenagers like to gather but want to be away from adult supervision. They can also be used in the case of having a babysitter in the home, as there have been many reported incidents of an abusive babysitter being caught by camera video surveillance, and many include audio surveillance.

One of the more recent innovations in security surveillance systems is the option of allowing the homeowner to view the video feeds from a remote location. It doesn’t matter if they are traveling half way across the globe or are just across town, they can see in real time what is going on at home with this surveillance software and an internet connection.

If you have any concerns at all about the safety and security of your business, then it makes a lot of sense to consider installing a burglar alarm system. Quality burglar alarm systems are very effective, not to mention cost effective, at protecting your inventory, your premises and your employees. However, many business owners hesitate to invest in security surveillance systems because of some common, but incorrect, myths about the products.

As most people know, burglar alarms are designed to help you detect break-ins and intrusions into stores or warehouses. When the alarm is tripped, a monitoring company is alerted and they are able to dispatch local police to the scene to handle the problems. Most systems also have integrated fire alarm systems and a monitor for that as well. Today, even the most basic systems also include video surveillance systems and even remote video surveillance, adding an extra layer of functionality.

Now is the time to dispel some of those myths and rumors so that you can make an informed decision about security systems based on solid facts.

They are just too expensive to install and monitor. Not so these days. Costs have come down considerably in recent years and basic systems can be purchased and installed for a few hundred dollars, depending on the facilities needs. Monitoring is generally charged on a monthly basis and usually is under $30 per month.

It’s an unnecessary expense and won’t boost my bottom line. While it’s true that you may never have an incident, the fact is that the cost of one break-in will more than likely pay for the security surveillance equipment many times over. Also, your insurance company will probably give you a break on your insurance premiums if your business premises are protected by a burglar alarm system.

They are difficult to use and I don’t have time to train my employees. Actually good security systems are quite simple to use. If you can use an ATM, then you can certainly handle a burglar alarm system. The same applies for employees and typically a demonstration and training session will take less than an hour.

The system will be useless is the power goes out or the phone lines are cut. The reality is that any decent video security system will have sophisticated battery backup in case of a power outage and an integrated cellular line to back up your phone system. Both of these backup systems automatically kick in if problems are detected.

False alarms are too common and will get us in hot water with local authorities. A monitored system will first alert the monitoring center. They will attempt to contact you, or someone on your contact list, to determine if there is a real problem. This step keeps most false alarms from ever being reported to emergency agencies. If you entered the wrong code, then you will get a warning signal and still have time to re-enter the code.

If any of the above misconceptions have been responsible for keeping you from making the decision to install a security surveillance system in your facility, or from having a home safety security system installed, then this clarification should clear the way for you to make the best decision possible.

Video security cameras are often hidden behind clothes racks and mirrors, or disguised as cute, little, seemingly innocent pots of makeup or inconspicuous accessories that will never see the light of a runway. This way, the sanctity of fashion is guarded without offending any inflated egos.

Video security cameras are of great help in designing a security system against criminals. You can find these cameras being used at different places. Video security cameras are a useful tool for enhancing safety in public and/or secure areas. A security camera allows activity to be monitored for identification, for alerting the occurrence of unwanted activity or intrusions and/or for providing a signal that may be recorded for later reference or potential use as evidence.

Security deposit box available at reception. Video security cameras are often set up at key points throughout a building or area. The video cameras may provide feeds to a central video monitoring station, where security personnel can visually monitor the areas.

Digital cameras have come a long ways in the past few years. They are now more affordable and feature rich than ever. Digital scanners, cameras, image files and Kodak Photo CDs are possible input sources for the printer. Image resolution is 1088 x 840 pixels and can be downloaded to a PC for storage or manipulation.

Video security cameras are placed strategically around the property to protect particular features (cars, boats, barns, etc) and are often monitored from a central recording station. Traditionally, homeowners have used analog CCTV cameras, which record footage onto cassette
Whether you’re starting new construction, renovating facilities or upgrading an existing security system. When you’re ready to install a video surveillance security camera system to your home or business you can rest assured you’re about to feel a whole lot safer.

People install these video security camera systems for so many different reasons. With the help of a digital camera or web cam and a PC, you can create office or home security system. While obviously a priority, crime prevention isn’t the only application for the system. Digital video surveillance cameras come in so many varieties that choosing the right one for you may seem daunting.

What makes one camera different from another? We now have video surveillance or cameras monitoring nearly our every move, documenting and securing each area in which we live our lives. This added surveillance has provided security and peace of mind for several generations. You must have a video source available on your PC, either a web camera or Windows Media file such as an avi file. Video cameras designed specifically for surveillance give an extra measure of safety and security.

The first part of this article dealt with the video security used as a woman and her friends spent the day shopping and enjoying each others company. We pick up where we left off; about four in the afternoon as the girls are getting ready to while the evening away.

The day was great, shopping was incredible and now it’s time for the evening fun to begin. Decked out in new clothes, you and your companions are ready for an evening of excitement.

Before you leave the mall, someone suggests a short visit to the jewelry store to find a bauble or two that will accessorize all the new clothing. Not a bad idea. Do you spot a video security camera as you enter the store? You can be pretty sure you do! Many stores of this kind have quite an inventory of expensive jewelry.

But wait- you needs to stop at the ATM for some extra cash, (someone hit the sales a little too hard?) Take a close look and you may see the video security camera is taking in the entire transaction.

After dinner you are all ready to attend the newest art opening at one of the galleries. Quite a few of these galleries now use some form of video security as a way to protect the work of the artists.

The art opening was very inspiring and you have decided it’s time for a quick drink before you head to the casino. Look for the video security in the bar. Many larger bars have added video security systems as a way to monitor both employees and patrons.

It’s on to the casino for a chance to recoup some of the money spent earlier in the day. You can “bet” the casino will have an up-to-date video security system. They have a lot to protect and this type of system gives them the chance to watch the people in the casino and prevent problems before they become serious.

The day is drawing to a close. You tell your friends good-bye and head for home. Unfortunately you take a look at your gas gauge and notice you do not have enough gas for the return trip. One final stop at an all-night gas station. Any video security cameras in place here? Probably, especially with the price of gas; people have been taking off without paying. Robberies are also a possibility so it is highly likely you will be observed on a video security camera. Pay for your gas, wave to the camera and call it a day!

You probably never stopped to think about it but even a day filled with friends and shopping is probably being closing monitored by the means of video security. Read on in Part One of this series and you will get a glimpse into a day in the life of an average person taking a little time to relax and have fun. This person could be you!

Before you even get out of your neighborhood you have decided that a cup of coffee is going to be absolutely necessary. When you stop at the convenience store at the end of your block for that cup of java, the video security system is in full swing.

If you live in a larger city, the video security may continue as you pull onto a busy, major highway. There very well could be cameras being used to keep track of traffic and monitor accidents and violations.

Pull into the underground parking garage and the use of video security is used to keep people safe and watch for incidents that could be problematic. Of course this means that your actions are being watched as well. Pull in a little too close to that car next to you and accidentally scratch the driver’s side on that Mercedes? Whoops! Caught on tape!

Before you meet your friends you need to make a stop at the bank branch that is conveniently located inside the mall. Here is a place where video security abounds. It is used to keep track of the actions of employees and to tape any type of possible robbery. These tapes are highly useful at trial because they often provide excellent documentation.

On to meet your friends and get started with the shopping spree. If you pay attention you will find that there is video security in many different places in the mall. There may be cameras in the common areas as well as in many of the stores. Video security is one way to keep an eye on shoppers who may have sticky fingers.

Well, you are about halfway through your day of shopping and fun. Have you noticed all the video security systems that are in place as you shop? Tune in for Part Two and see what happens as day turns into evening. The fun will continue and so will the video security!

What are you looking for in digital video security? Do you need perimeter security, emergency management or loss prevention? Maybe your needs run more toward protection of high-risk environments. Are you a business owner who needs a new security system or an update? All of these scenarios are possible with the use of a digital video security system.

When you need any kind of digital video security surveillance you will find there are many benefits that can be reaped with the use of such a system. Look into digital video security and you may find that some of these advantages may be helpful to you.

One advantage of a digital video security system is being able to detect, alert and dispatch when a threat is at hand. You can analyze the threat and act on it before the incident even takes place.

Another benefit is having a digital security system that can stand up to environmental demands that can be brutal. A good system can provide you with a video based security network that will monitor your critical assets and keep them secure in almost any situation.

Some digital video security monitoring systems can deliver a very wide surveillance capacity. This means that more locations can be monitored without additional staff. Some areas that are normally dark, cost prohibitive, or hazardous can often be monitored by some of the newer surveillance systems.

There are digital video security systems that are so sophisticated, they miss very little. This means your security is improved and errors are greatly reduced.

You will be able to find systems that provide digital video security that can intelligently detect a potential threat and automatically inform those who need the information. A team can then be dispensed to handle the situation.

Because these systems are being constantly upgraded and improved, your costs may actually be less. You will not need as many security employees and it is also less expensive to update an existing system rather than replacing the entire thing.

Digital video security is essential for many businesses and corporations. It can be used in casinos, banks, convenience stores and shopping centers. The benefits of using digital video security are many and as the technology continues to improve, the benefits and advantages will increase.

Digital video security is often used on college campuses. Most college campuses also make use of information technology. Can the two areas be combined as a way to strengthen both areas?

There may certainly be some hurdles to jump over to achieve a working partnership but there would be many benefits as well. Those who are responsible for the use of security on the campus, which includes digital video security often feel they will loose control if they work with the IT people. They may also worry about not understanding the technology employed in the IT department.

The IT folks may think that those in charge of campus security are old fashioned and not up on the newest technology. There are also times when the techies get so caught up in the latest technology that they don’t appreciate the older things that continue to work well and have proved reliable.

So, the question still remains; can these two groups get together and put their differences aside long enough to reap the benefits? Can those in charge of digital video security work with those who know all the latest technology?

Here are some of the benefits of the two areas working together:

Budgets can be shared. Instead of having separate budgets, neither of which cover all the needs, the budgets can be pooled and used for larger purchases such as updates on older digital video security systems.

Technology departments often receive grants to improve the network’s infrastructure. Colleges and universities may also budget for high-speed connections between campuses and buildings. Funds for digital video security equipment may be piggy-backed into this budget. In both situations, everyone wins.

When digital video security systems are not working properly, surveillance is greatly decreased. The campus police are busy taking care of campus security and may not have the time to troubleshoot or fix problems that are essentially technology situations. When the two departments assist each other, security is enhanced.

Campus security is a serious issue and digital video security systems are becoming more sophisticated. These sophisticated systems will improve campus security but they will require the expertise of those in the IT department.

The benefits of campus security departments working with those in IT departments far outweigh the struggles they may face at the beginning of the working relationship.

Even though most video surveillance systems are utilized in business and public settings where there is a need to monitor an area for security reasons, there have been instances where they can come in handy on a personal level. One such circumstance would be in the case of an ugly divorce and custody tug-of-war. A well-placed remote video surveillance camera could give you some leverage, if your ex happens to be up to no good.

Once you have a clear idea of your needs, sit down with a video surveillance systems professional who can help you design a system. You can also wing it and just go to a home improvement store and buy a kit, but if you want to take your security system seriously and be assured of proper function and reliability, then it is best to use professionals who have installed many systems and can answer your questions.

Is it time to install the home safety security system that you have been thinking about for months, or maybe years? If you are anything like a lot of other people, then the answer is yes, it’s about time!

Every month, increasing numbers of families are considering hooking their home up with video surveillance systems in order to protect and secure their premises. But sometimes choosing can be daunting because of the many choices available.

Not long ago, most homeowners never even thought about including video surveillance into their overall home security plans. But today things are different. The good news is the cost of all security equipment has dropped significantly in recent years. As it has become more available, it has become more popular and vital for security functions.
This means that today an average family can find it quite affordable to install a complete home safety security system and even includes a network of remote video surveillance cameras. Barely more than decade ago, such a system would only be found in large businesses or government installations.

One of the most popular features of a home security system that integrates home security systems is the option to have the video feeds sent to the internet. This means that busy parents who are concerned about how things are going back at home can log into a password protected website and view the live feeds from the various cameras in their network.

Not only is this helpful for moms and dads who put in long hours at the office, but this IP video surveillance arrangement is also perfect for the person who travels a great deal and is concerned about their home security while away. Some of the home security systems also monitor things like temperature and moisture levels. For homeowners who have leaky basements or tropical aquariums that must maintain certain temperatures, this can provide a tremendous amount of peace of mind when they are away.

Many home security systems provide monitoring as well that keeps tabs on all the various indicators of home safety. This includes alarms that go off and notify the monitoring center in case of intrusion, fire, a “panic button” being pressed, temperature drops and changes in moisture levels. The monitoring center can then dispatch the appropriate help for the situation.

However, it should be noted that the monitoring centers do not have access to the video surveillance part of the home security system. This is only available to the homeowner and is accessible only through a secure network. A security company doesn’t eavesdrop on home activities.

Home safety security measures are increasingly important to families. In many ways the world is becoming smaller through the advancements in communication, travel and technology, but at the same time there seem to be more dangers around every corner. A quality home security surveillance system can provide a great deal of protection and also peace of mind to busy families.

If you asked the average person in the 1990s if they would ever consider putting a surveillance camera system in their home, then likely most would have responded that these devices were for businesses or for estates and mansions. Other than that, people were used to only seeing such systems in government or large public settings for security measures. But with technological advancements, especially in miniaturization of circuitry, burglar alarm systems are now common in small businesses and homes.

People are motivated to provide secure environments for their loved ones. A security camera can be a deterrent to crime, often stopping a criminal from intruding onto your property or into your home before they have a chance to commit a crime. The last thing a culprit wants is to be caught on tape. If you have posted the fact that you have a burglar alarm system, then no doubt the offender will move on to easier targets.

In the event that a criminal is not put off by your home surveillance camera, or can’t read the sign, at least you will have caught his intrusion on video. Of course, most security cameras are tied into burglar alarm systems which will be the second line of defense.

If an intruder is scared off by the burglar alarm, then you will be able to review the video taken by the camera so that you know exactly who has been skulking around your premises. And, of course, you will be able to share that evidence with the authorities so that they can track down the offender.

A video security camera that takes in the view of the street in front of your home can also serve as a good neighborhood deterrent to crime and mischief by errant teens who might be bored and looking for what they think might be harmless fun. There are many situations that can be avoided if the kids in the neighborhood simply are aware that their actions will be caught on tape. It can be a good way to encourage thinking before acting.

Since most people are away from their homes for a good portion of the day, a video surveillance camera can also be very helpful in taping unauthorized people who are coming to, or lingering near your home or property. If your surveillance videos show unknown, suspicious people hanging around your home or neighborhood, then you can alert your neighbors to be observant and also let the local police know so they can send a patrol car through the neighborhood.

Certainly, no member of any family wants to live under the feeling of being constantly watched, but the reality is that there are situations in home setting when a surveillance camera network can be not only useful but important. In instances where you might suspect problems with a caregiver or un-welcomed guests who might drop by when the parents are not home, these video surveillance cameras can supply potentially life-saving information. In addition, most of these systems can be accessed remotely via the internet, so that the parents can see exactly what is going on in the home even if they are far away.

It is probably no surprise to learn that each year there is an increase in the number of surveillance cameras that people are installing to monitor and protect their homes. This is in part due to the fact that people are spending less and less time at home but still want to feel safe when they get home at the end of a long day. At the same time, neighbors are less likely nowadays to be home either, and even less inclined to be keeping an eye on the goings-on in the neighborhood.

So, even average homeowners can afford to have a system that also includes such features as remote home security surveillance.

If you own, or are responsible for the management of a business, then there are probably some issues of safety and security that have you concerned from time to time.

If you own, or are responsible for the management of a business, then there are probably some issues of safety and security that have you concerned from time to time. In such instances, burglar alarm systems can be an excellent investment in your overall business. They have proven over the years to be very effective in minimizing loss and preventing theft and vandalism.

Today, even the most basic systems also include video security system and even remote video surveillance, adding an extra layer of functionality.

Now is the time to dispel some of those myths and rumors so that you can make an informed decision about security systems based on solid facts.

Myth One: They are just too expensive to install and monitor. Not so these days. Costs have come down considerably in recent years and basic systems can be purchased and installed for a few hundred dollars, depending on the facilities needs. Monitoring is generally charged on a monthly basis and usually is under $30 per month.

Myth Two: It’s an unnecessary expense and won’t boost my bottom line. While it’s true that you may never have an incident, the fact is that the cost of one break-in will more than likely pay for the security surveillance equipment many times over. Also, your insurance company will probably give you a break on your insurance premiums if your business premises are protected by a burglar alarm system.

Myth Three: They are difficult to use and I don’t have time to train my employees. Actually good security systems are quite simple to use. If you can use an ATM, then you can certainly handle a burglar alarm system. The same applies for employees and typically a demonstration and training session will take less than an hour.

Myth Four: The system will be useless is the power goes out or the phone lines are cut. The reality is that any decent video security system will have sophisticated battery backup in case of a power outage and an integrated cellular line to back up your phone system. Both of these backup systems automatically kick in if problems are detected.

Myth Five: False alarms are too common and will get us in hot water with local authorities.

If any of these concerns have been what’s been holding you back from getting a security surveillance system installed in your business, or from having a home safety security system installed, then debunking these common misconceptions should help you to make a more informed decision.

CCTV used to be too expensive for anyone but big banks or corporations to use. The times have changed and CCTV security along with it.

There are many ways that CCTV security is used and here are seven of them:

CCTV video security is used by banks and ATM’s as a way to keep an eye on what is going on in the bank and outside the bank as well. These cameras can show several areas at one time. When you are withdrawing money at an ATM, your actions are probably being observed. If the bank is robbed or an individual has money taken from them at an ATM, it may be captured on tape. This allows for prosecution and the subsequent punishment of those responsible.

CCTV security can be helpful in industrial situations. Some industrial plants have processes that are dangerous to human beings or take place in remote areas of the plant. CCTV cameras are used to increase security and safety.

Airports make use of CCTV security when they use the systems to keep track of people and luggage. Many areas can be observed at once which is helpful, especially in larger airports. Homeland security has certainly become an issue that can not be taken lightly.

Many homeowners are using CCTV security to protect their homes and property. When homeowners use this type of system they are able to see what is happening in the house and also on the grounds and in other buildings on the property.

Businesses and corporations use CCTV security to keep their businesses and their employees safe. Workers can be monitored and information, supplies, materials and products can be protected.

CCTV security is employed as a way to monitor traffic. Accidents may be recorded and vehicles can be tracked in cases of robbery or missing persons.

Beware if you are a shoplifter! Many shopping malls and specialty shops have begun using CCTV security measures. Theft is a big problem for many stores and they lose millions of dollars every year to theft. This is one way to deter theft and also to prosecute the thieves.

These are just seven instances where CCTV security can be used to monitor, deter and prosecute crimes.

When you are interested in getting a video security system for your home or business, you will likely start to do some research. As you get further into your research, you will come across the terms “Network camera” and “IP Camera”.

You may start wondering what the difference between the two is. Each one can connect to a network via an IP address and be viewed over the Web. The good news is that there is no difference at all!

The reason most cameras go by both names is that various companies use various terms to describe their specific products. One company calls theirs the “network camera” and another calls theirs the “IP camera”. So, by consumers the names are very interchangeable.

When you are browsing through products, you might even see some cameras being called “Network IP Cameras”. This does not mean the camera does double-duty. It only is a merging of the two most popular names, into one.

So, don’t let the techno mumbo-jumbo confuse you when you are looking for a network camera. The most important aspect is not the name of the camera, but the fact that it does what you desire it to do.

Network cameras are becoming the preferred way to monitor the security of homes and businesses. They are very economical and allow customers the comfort of viewing their property from any location that has an Internet connection. If you are looking for the latest in home and business security, check out the various network cameras available on the market.

The first reason you should be able to demo the software is to be sure you are getting what you need. Each customer has different needs, which confirms the fact that all software will not fit the needs of every customer. When you can try it out first, you will know if it does what you need it to do.

Secondly, with the cost of network camera software being substantial, you want to be sure you are not investing in something that you simply don’t like. You should feel confident in using the software and really feel as if it is doing it job. Most people want software that needs very little attention. Make a list of your preferences and their priority and see if each software demo fits your specific list of needs.

Remember, network cameras and home security systems are an investment that you should take very seriously. Take your time and choose what is right for you.

CCTV, which stands for closed-circuit television is a way in which video cameras are used to transmit a signal to a certain limited set of monitors. It is not the same thing as broadcast television because the signal is not openly transmitted. It may, however, make use of point to point links.

CCTV is often used as a means of surveillance in areas where security is necessary. Casinos, banks, airports, jewelry stores and military installations are just a few of the places that make use of CCTV.

Privacy issues sometimes arise but CCTV is also used more often in public places. These cameras are often used now in shopping malls, underground parking garages, bars, restaurants and specialty shops.

Industrial plants have found that the use of CCTV equipment can help with the observation of places that are more remote or not comfortable for people. In these instances CCTV cameras can be employed from a control room and certain processes can still be observed.

The use of CCTV cameras in industrial processes is sometimes required by law and sometimes it is not. There are times when industrial processes are dangerous but they can be monitored by CCTV instead of by human beings.

CCTV can operate as a system that runs continuously or only when needed to monitor a particular situation. This is another aspect of CCTV that is useful.

CCTV is also used for the detection and prevention of crime. At one time is was used mostly by banks as a way to increase security and prevent robberies. Now it is easy to use and inexpensive as well, so CCTV is used in many other places. CCTV is used for home security and also for surveillance purposes.

The prosecution of crimes is an area that has been helped with the use of CCTV cameras. Crimes have been solved because the criminals have been caught on tape. Several murder cases have been brought to trial because of these cameras. CCTV cameras have been instrumental in bombing situations and they are also used to track the movement of children who have gone missing.

These cameras and systems can be helpful in the subway where operators of the machinery can’t always see everything that is going on. The same thing is true for those who operate amusement park rides.

CCTV has many uses and is especially essential when surveillance is needed or safety is a concern.

Yes, there are times when it may be appropriate to keep your eye on a partner through the means of video surveillance. In Part One of this article we discussed the times when it was not legitimate or healthy to spy on your partner. In Part Two we will talk about the times when it may be legitimate and healthy as well.

Some people would never even consider the use of video surveillance to keep track of a partner. Maybe these are people who are totally unaware of inappropriate actions on the part of the person they live with.

Other people may have suspicions and doubts and have tried talking to their partner with no results. These people just know that something is not right and even after confronting their partner feel that something is really wrong.

When you have tried everything else and you are afraid that your relationship involves a cheating partner, video surveillance is one choice you have. You can hire someone to do the surveillance for you or buy the equipment and take on the job yourself. It is often better to hire someone else if you can afford it.

Secrets are not helpful in a relationship. When you are seeing the signs of cheating and you know that your relationship is headed in the wrong direction, it may be time to take action. Video surveillance can help you discover some of the secrets and give you a chance to get out from under the lies.

Maybe you are sure that your partner is cheating and this is not the first time. You are tired of the infidelity and ready to move on. The actual evidence that video surveillance can provide may give you the determination and strength to call it quits once and for all.

If you are pretty sure your partner is cheating, are you willing to risk the medical possibilities because of his or her behavior? There are all kinds of diseases that can be transmitted and some of them are deadly and can be passed on to your children.

Video surveillance is not for the faint of heart. If you do not want to know the truth or if you are not ready to face the possibility of a cheating partner, think twice. This type of evidence is often irrefutable and may lead to the end of your relationship. Of course if the relationship is built on secrets and lies maybe the best thing you can do is to uncover the truth and move on.

Video surveillance is used for many reasons. It can be used for security purposes and to deter crimes. Video surveillance is also a way to watch a partner when you suspect cheating.

Some people have cheating partners and they never have a clue that something is amiss. Others may be overly reactive and think something is going on when there is absolutely no reason to be concerned. Still others just have a feeling that something is different with the relationship or have been in a situation before that involved a cheating partner.

There are other instances when a partner may want to use video surveillance as a way to track the movements of the person they are in a relationship with. They may suspect child abuse or neglect. The possibility of drug use is sometimes the reason.

Whatever the situation, there are times when video surveillance is used as a tool to watch a partner. In the case of someone who suspects cheating, there are legitimate reasons for using video surveillance and other reasons that are not so legitimate or healthy.

The remainder of this article will deal with reasons that are not as legitimate or healthy. Part two of this article will give you some legitimate reasons to use video surveillance to watch a partner.

One reason to use video surveillance to watch a partner is because you are paranoid. Even though you have absolutely no reason to believe your partner is having an affair, you have a problem with trust. Instead of spending the time and money for video surveillance you might want to consider counseling.

A second reason to use video surveillance to watch a partner that borders on not being legitimate is that you are using this as a way to keep track of a partner who seems to be moving away from you. This can be a type of game and something that keeps you connected to your partner. First of all, talk to your partner. Once again, it may not hurt to seek the advise of a counselor.

One final reason to use video surveillance in a way that is not healthy is to convince yourself that you want to know the truth. You are telling yourself that if you can just catch your partner cheating, as you suspect, you will know the truth and be able to get the problem out in the open. O.K… You can certainly feed yourself this baloney but if you are really looking for the truth, start by talking to your partner about your fears before you resort to spying on him or her.

Compare a digital security system over a conventional system and you will find that there are many advantages.

When you are using a digital security system you will be able to replace the monitor, time-lapse recorder and switching unit with one centralized system. This system can then be accessed and controlled from several locations.

A digital security system allows the user to retrieve the video very quickly. There is no longer a need to search through hours of tape to find the desired image.

Another advantage of a digital security system is that it can be set to record when motion or other pre-defined events are detected. The video is then compressed and stored to a PC’s hard drive.

The quality of the images recorded by a digital security system is high and this helps with image and evidence recognition. Digital security videos can be enhanced easily and copied many times without any negative change in the original quality.

Analog systems are often affected by noise. This is not an issue when a digital security system is used.

Digital security systems use digital storage media that has an almost unlimited lifetime. Analog systems use tapes that have to be replaced quite often.

Digital security systems can be used to archive relevant information to HDD, FDD, DVD, or CD-R. This allows the user many different choices.

There is very little maintenance required with a digital security system. This saves time and money.

A digital security system can be set to record by a schedule such as date or time, smart mode detection or alarm activation. These options provide various choices depending on needs.

The advantages to using a digital security system are many.

What are the things you should look for in a digital security system? There are several things to consider before you make a decision.

You need to decide about the picture quality. Screen resolution, compression format, file size and color depth are considerations also but what you should really think about is the subjective video quality.

For some applications the file size is not really very important. Since many DVRs are used in closed systems, either the kind that can stand alone or on their own dedicated networks, The file size is a consideration when you need to move files around on a network and have limited network bandwidth availability. If the DVR is used on a private network it is not an issue but if you are sharing an LAN you may need to think about this.

File size does matter in your digital security system when you start calculating the data storage requirements so that you can determine the number of hard drives you will need. The size of your files also matter if you are using your digital security system to record high activity cameras for long periods of time.

You should think about the platform you will be using with your digital security system. Some are more user-friendly than others and you can find models that are less expensive, smaller and more reliable.

It may be important to implement a digital security system that comes with a good support system. There may be times when you will need the help of a support person in the middle of the night.

Think seriously about your digital security needs.

Are you thinking about using video surveillance? If so, consider the ABC’s of video surveillance.

A= Ask many questions before you buy a video surveillance system. You will need to know how you will be using the video surveillance system and what your needs are. There are many choices on the market and you will want to check out your choices before you buy. Do you want the video surveillance system to watch a nanny or a spouse? Are you trying to keep your home safe and your family or business protected?

B= Business considerations. If you have a business there are different things you may want to monitor with a video surveillance system. Do you have more than one business? Will you be keeping an eye on your employees as well as customers? Is your main goal in having a video surveillance system to keep theft as low as possible? Do you mainly want to monitor employees?

C= Cost. You can find a video surveillance system that is relatively inexpensive. This type of system may be fine of you have few needs and won’t be using the system very often. If, however you own a business, want to protect your interests at home, or keep your kids safe, you may want to invest in a video surveillance system that is state-of-the-art. When you buy a really good system you will have technology that is new and will serve you well.

Before you buy a video surveillance system, investigate your choices. Read about the various systems and go online to a site that specializes in video surveillance systems. You will be able to find the information you need to make an educated decision. Keep your business and family safe with a good video surveillance system.

Video surveillance is used in all kinds of situations and for various reasons. This is actually a rather complex area and one that has quite a history that begins with analog surveillance in the 70’s.

Video surveillance is used in train stations and to monitor major highways. It is also used as a way to catch traffic violators on city streets.

Businesses often use video surveillance to keep an eye on customers as well as employees who work for the businesses. You can be sure that banks make use of video surveillance systems because of theft situations. Other businesses that use video surveillance to avoid theft or to be able to catch those who commit theft are mini-marts and gas stations.

The insurance industry makes use of video surveillance on a daily basis. They can use video surveillance as a way to prove that some claims are not on the up-and-up. Those claiming injury from an accident or those trying to win worker’s comp cases are often caught by a video surveillance camera doing things they say they are no longer able to do.

Getting down to a more personal level there are times when video surveillance systems are purchased as a way to watch spouses. People who fear they have a cheating partner may use this type of equipment to catch the person.

Parents who leave their children with a nanny or babysitter use video surveillance systems quite often. Parents who are gone from the home are able to see exactly what goes on when they are not there and can tell if their children are being well taken care of.

Who is watching whom? Someone may be watching you at this very moment using the latest video surveillance technology available.

A person who is purchasing a security system for their home may have different needs than the person who is looking for a system for a large corporation or a bank.

There are many different kinds of digital video security systems and many different price ranges. You will need to assess your needs and do some research before you buy. Talk to other people who have a digital video security system and see what they might recommend. Read articles about the various systems and get online for even more information.

Where will you purchase the digital video security system? All kinds of places have these systems for sale. One of your best choices is to find an online site that specializes in digital video systems and see what they have to offer. You will be able to ask questions and receive answers from people who are professionals in this field. An online site gives you the freedom to get information and compare different digital security systems. You can also compare prices and after you decide which system is right for you, the digital security system will be shipped right to your home or business. It’s a smart and convenient way to buy.

Knowing how you will use your digital security system, how much you are willing to spend and where you will make your purchase will ultimately allow you to make an educated decision.

There is no getting around it, digital video security is the wave of the future. Digital video security has many advantages over other types of security systems.

Digital video security is used to fight terrorism, help fight crime when placed in public places, on transit routes and in retail centers. Many high traffic areas benefit from digital video security. Digital video security systems also help citizens feel safer and can improve the living conditions and economy in areas of high crime.

One of the reasons that a digital video security system is so useful is because it not only captures precise images but it does so in a way that is scalable within the IP system a company or organization is currently using. The cameras that are used are sophisticated and fast.

Although some of these digital security systems are very expensive, they are proving their worth. The start-up costs may be high but it isn’t long before the advantages greatly outweigh the costs.

There are digital video security systems that are not nearly as expensive and are designed for use on a smaller scale. These systems are being used in homes and in smaller businesses.

A digital video security system is made up of software and hardware that collects and transmits surveillance camera information through fiber optic cable, wireless technologies or over any IP-based network. The images are then transferred to a laptop or PC and can be viewed by someone using a compact, flat-screen monitor. Storing the information is easy and it can be stored much longer than when using older security systems.

Digital video security has many advantages in many different situations.

If you have a home, property or business to protect there are several ways to protect those places. Which security measures will provide you the most protection? Is video security your best choice?

Video security is one choice but other choices are guards, fencing, better lighting, or locks. Each of these security measures may be right for you or you may choose to incorporate two or three of these ideas.

Guards have been used for a very long time when it comes to protecting people and property. They can not be everywhere at all times and what do you do when one does not show up for a shift? Guards will require training so they can keep up on the newest security situations.

You can add more fences, including mantraps, gates and turnstiles. These fencing items can be cost prohibitive and may not be very attractive. Fencing will be helpful with crowd control and can keep some trespassers from gaining access to your property but they will not provide a big deterrent to professional criminals.

Improving lighting on your property is always a good idea. If a trespasser is worried about being seen, good lighting may cause him or her to think twice.

There are different kinds of locks and some are more useful when deterring crime that others. Criminals who know what they are doing can open most locks and of course the locks need to be locked to do any good.

CCTV can be used in conjunction with guards. This type of video security is often the best choice because it enhances the surveillance and captures activity and records it. Video security can be combined with other types of security to provide ultimate protection.

Although there are more than five reasons to use a video security system, these five reasons will give you a good idea of some of the situations where having a video security system is useful.

#1 reason for video security: You own a business and want to be able to see what happens during the day while business is transpiring and after hours as well. Your business is your livelihood and this is one way you can monitor the people who frequent your establishment and those who work for you.

#2 reason for video security: Parents often work outside the home and hire a nanny to care for the children. A video security system will allow parents a little more peace of mind when they are gone from the home.

#3 reason for video security: A video security system is very helpful if you want to protect your home. Not only may you want a video security system because of possible break-ins, but you may want the kind of system that allows you to monitor other buildings on your property and the perimeter, too.

#4 reason for video security: When people are building a new home or business, a video security system can be put in place to keep an eye on the contractors and any other people who come and go from the site. This is especially helpful at night when the property is left unattended.

#5 reason for video security: A video security system is an important tool for those who work to discover insurance fraud. There are people who file lawsuits claiming they are unable to work or perform certain activities because of an injury. Video security systems can be used to watch these people and see if their claims are true or falsified.
